The music legend passes away..

Dakshinamurthy swami, the legend who introduced master singer Yesudas, his father Augustin Joseph, son Vijay Yesudas and grand daughter ameya to the world of film music. Augustin Joseph was introduced to he playback singing through ‘nalla thanka’, Yesudas by ‘Devalayam’ and in case of Vijay Yesudas it was through ‘idanazhiyil oru kallochha’. Little ameya was presented through the new film which is yet to release ‘shyamaragam’. Yesudas who respected chembai swamy as his karnatic music guru, till the end worshiped Ddakshinamurthy as his guru of music in the film industry. Dakshinamurthy was really music legend as krishna in his song ‘Kaatile paazhmulam thandil ninnum paatinde paalazhi theetha’.. He was such a great man that he can even transform newpaper headlines to sweet music. Malayalam enjoyed with love his contributions given to the malayalam film industry as well as to the devotional world. He started his career in the industry with ;nalla thanka’ in 1950. ‘Kharaharapriya’ was his favorite raga. He made his favorite raga to be sung even by the common bathroom singers through his great songs ‘utharaswayamvaram’, ‘ashokapoornima’,pulayanaarmaniyamma’ etc.

His songs were a lesson of how the pure karnatic music can be given to common world as simple but beautiful light music…
